Contract signed for new mechanics factory in Thailand

On 4 February 2022, GPV signed the contract for building a new mechanics factory in Bangkok, Thailand. The ground-breaking ceremony is planned to take place later this month. Contractors is RITTA, which also built the electronics factory in 2013, consulting engineers is COWI.

Bjorn Fiskers, MD at GPV Electronics and Mechanics TH signed the contract with Mr. Nut Varnichkorn, Executive Director from contractors RITTA, and from Denmark, on a MS Teams connection were Bo Lybæk, CEO at GPV and Carsten Peter Johansen, Legal Counsel in GPV.

“Congratulations to our colleagues in Thailand. The signing of the contract to build a new mechanics factory in Thailand is the first step in expanding our footprint in Thailand. When finished with the new mechanics factory, we will refurbish our current mechanics facility and connect it to our current electronics production to be able to meet the increasing demands from our customers,” says Bo Lybæk, CEO at GPV.

As part of our journey towards a more sustainable production, GPV is installing a solar cell system for electricity production at the new mechanics site.

GPV currently has 7,100m2 mechanics production and 15,000m2 electronics production in Bangkok, Thailand. When finished, the mechanics production will be 12,000m2 and the electronics production will be 22,000m2.

Apart from the expansion in Thailand, GPV is currently building a new electronics factory in Sri Lanka. When finished with these expansions, GPV will have approx. 100,000m2 of production under roof.
