New Safety Awareness Campaign:
Spot it – Report it – Prevent it

At GPV, safety is a shared responsibility, and we want to continue to strengthen our safety culture.

That is why we have launched a new safety awareness campaign – Spot it, Report it, Prevent it – where we reinforce focus on near miss reporting. The new campaign combines near miss reporting with the most practical and usable preventive actions. By spotting potential hazards, reporting them, and implementing solutions, we create a safer work environment for ourselves and our colleagues.

Each month, one Operating Business Unit will be recognised for submitting the most practical and effective safety improvement idea. At the end of the campaign period in June 2025, three standout ideas will be selected based on their impact and usability.

Why it matters
The foundation for any successful business is a safe workplace. Therefore, safety at work is our number one priority.

“In February 2025, we had an all-time low LTI (Lost Time Injury) rate of 0.42. This number speaks for itself – we have succeeded in creating a safety culture where everyone can feel safe when they go to work. Still, during the last couple of months, there has been a slight drop in the number of near miss reports. We want to continue to strengthen our safety culture, and therefore, we now reinforce focus on near miss reporting,” says Ville Pirilä, Vice President, Quality & HSE at GPV.

This year, our safety focus is on TRIR (Total Recordable Incidents Rate). TRIR counts all recordable injuries, whereas the more traditional LTI only counts the ones that cause lost workdays. To improve our safety practices further, we have a new database to collect information from all incidents, which we can use for analysis and improvement.
