Our safety focus continues

With daily focus and dedication, we reached a safety level of 0,5 by the end of 2024. Thus, our Lost Time Injury (LTI) rate in 2024 surpassed our target for 2028.
In 2024, we have intensely focused on our safety culture. During the year, we have prioritised the identification and analysis of near miss incidents, and we have achieved significant improvements in safety outcomes. We have run successful safety awareness campaigns to raise knowledge about the importance of a safe workplace. And we have all committed ourselves to caring about and paying attention to each other’s safety and wellbeing.
“Our remarkable safety achievements in 2024 are a statement of our collective commitment to safety and excellence. The dedication and hard work of our people do not go unnoticed, and I am incredibly proud of what we have accomplished together. As we move forward into 2025, we will continue to prioritise safety in everything we do,” says Ville Pirilä, Vice President, Quality and HSE at GPV.
In 2024, we had seven incidents, compared to 15 incidents in 2023. This significant improvement highlights the progress we have made in fostering a stronger safety culture. However, safety is an ongoing process that requires our constant focus and dedication every day.
Focus in 2025
In 2024, we prioritised identifying and analysing near-misses, achieving significant improvements in safety outcomes. For 2025, our focus will also include minor incidents.
By targeting recurring issues, we aim to further reduce risks and enhance overall safety performance.
Planned actions include:
- Machine safety: Review and reinforce machine usage guidelines, ensuring compliance with local safety rules.
- Warehouse forklifts: Implement stricter controls to ensure only trained operators use forklifts and adhere to site regulations.
- Hot surfaces: Increase awareness and implement protective measures in areas with high temperatures.
- Electrical safety: Conduct regular inspections and reinforce adherence to safety protocols to minimise electrical hazards.
- Mental focus: Promote programs and strategies to improve attention, reduce distractions, and enhance concentration during tasks.
